These photos of my latest drawings don’t look too great. I took them with my phone; they look a bit dark and skewed. They’ll have to do though, for now, until I have the energy to scan them or make better photos. They do all look like happy little drawings, and I feel very pleased [...]

I’ve tried out some new foods recently, some for eating and some for drawing. The kohlrabi roasts in the oven as I type this and the aubergine — I just can’t call it eggplant! — lies waiting for an idea to pop into my head. The aubergine doesn’t look like the kind I know, the [...]
Today didn’t go too great, and at some point I decided to make a little drawing. I drew the little (handy) scissors I bought recently. While I took the photo I noticed the other drawings in the moleskine and realised I hadn’t put a bunch of the others drawings online yet. I made them all [...]
I crawled around a bit today, trying to hoover under the sofa. Today the first sketchcrawl of 2010 also took place, so I also did some drawings. I didn’t crawl during the sketching though, not good for the knees…
a bit of a compulsive spender. There, I said it.
Oh, and pens.
And I buy a lot of food.
Only on occasion do I not use the things I purchase, this happens maybe a couple of times per year. I don’t buy 50 pairs of shoes, new skirts because they’re on sale etc.
But I am a compulsive spender and this has to stop. I have more pens than I could possible ever get empty (granted, drawing just goes a lot better with the right pen, but I have multiple so that shouldn’t become a problem any time soon). I have a gazillion (lovely) boxes.
No more buying food when I have plenty in my pantry. Make shopping lists and stick to them. Time to grow up ;)
Some time ago I started doing my own injections. The weekly trip to the doctor’s office did cost me too much energy, plus, I needed a bit more than just once per week. I asked about self-injection and they explained to me how it worked and immediately let me do it. After a few tries there, they gave me everything I needed to do the shots at home. I’ve had a few moments, in which I felt pretty light-headed and mostly thought ‘Why did I want to do this!’, however, mostly it goes pretty good. I feel proud of myself, I have conquered my fear of needles.
